I'm using MKVextractGUI to extract the subtitles from various anime but for some reason it isn't showing any subtitles on the list. It only shows "Chapters" but no subtitles. Does anyone have any ideas as to why it isn't reading the subtitles in the mkv files?

I tried it too, and seem to be having the same problem. :shock: Has anyone else ran into this issue? I can supply a screenshot if needed.

Looks like you are on the move animeguy! Well I will be there shortly, too!
I know how to extract subtitles (takes less than 5 sec), drag and drop the video in mkvmerge GUI (mmg.exe) [IT SHOULD BE AN MKV FILE WITH SOFT SUBS]
you will see three streams one of them is type:text i.e the subtitle stream.
Untick the two other stream and press the extract button!(screen -> http://www.mediafire.com/?9pz4k0jajltn8la
The subtitle which you obtain in this process is of format mks(matroska subtitle) it includes attachments for styling(hope you have seen stylish subtitles before) along with the text.

But I do not recommend extracting subtitles using mkvmerge, for nice extraction you need MKVextract GUI 2(it's a standalone exe file which needs to be placed in the mkvtoolnix folder)
I will give you procedures when you download it!:haha:
And I left a visitor's message! Reply it atleast!
And again,:omg::omg:

Hehe :)
I downloaded MKVextract GUI and placed it in the folder. But when I try to open anime with it, it doesn't show anything in the content (no subs, audio or anything else). :(

Download it from here-

After you open it drag and drop the mkv file into it. It should atleast show video and audio listed in the tracks. If you see atleast one track, then I will instruct further or will have to go back to rectify the problem.
Also, if you are doing this for that sub-section, then give up. It's a lot of headache (says out of depression, the wounds of hentai lair are yet to be filled but the bright side is that I got a lot of rep)

Okay I'll try that right away.
